On 13 June, Ready4H2 Director Barbara Jinks took part in the 2025 hydrogen workshop with the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies (OIES).
The annual event covered aspects of hydrogen infrastructure that is needed for the ramp up of hydrogen as a new energy carrier but is often overlooked. The discussion covered specifics of distribution and transmission pipelines needed to connect demand with supply, hydrogen storage and supporting regulations and policy. The discussions were held under the Chatham House rules, which allowed open and frank discussions about what is needed to ramp up the hydrogen economy as well as a reality check on what is likely, based on current developments.
Attendees were from industry, governments, EU associations, academia and the staff of the OIES who perform deep dives on these and other topics, and published papers on their website, either as research papers or Energy Insights.
