Last week the Ready4H2 project held its 4th annual Plenary meeting in Bonn, hosted by DVGW. The event marked a celebration of project achievements over the past 12 months and consensus on the priorities for 2026. The plenary included participation from its members countries and partners and guests from the DSO Entity and DVGW. Those who attended in person were able to sniff test the new sulphur-free odorant Scentinel, developed by CPChem. A virtual site trip was arranged with online tours by Stadtwerke Bonn of their H2-ready turbine and the Gas Warming Institute (GWI) test laboratory in Essen. DVGW provided an overview of its extensive hydrogen research and activities including certification, products lie verifHy, R&D and the H2 Academy training.
The plenary concluded that the project has been effective in increasing the visibility of gas DSOs and awareness of the issues related to transforming DSOs to hydrogen. Over the last 12 months Ready4H2 completed 4 research projects, presented at over 50 conferences and stakeholder meetings (both globally and in 14 European countries), published articles and hosted 8 technical webinars on topics of priority to its members, and has nearly completed its new research Guide to Planning Gas Distribution Networks to Hydrogen – a guide that assists DSOs step by step to convert their grids.
The Ready4H2 Steering Committee thanks all members, partners and supporters for their valuable contributions that have resulted in a successful year.
