Last week, the Ready4H2 Steering Committee convened in GRDF’s office in Paris to review the work done to date and take stock of what needs to be done for the rest of the year.
During the meeting key topics were discussed that will drive the Ready4H2 project forward, including the workplan, budget and strategy to achieve the aims of the project. As Barbara Jinks, Project Director, confirmed: “A key outcome of the meeting was that the Steering Committee reinforced the importance of the work that Ready4H2 is undertaking – that of sharing knowledge between members, raising the visibility of the opportunities that gas distribution systems offer in a decarbonised energy supply chain, and planning research into the role of DSOs in connecting the hydrogen producer with consumers.”
In July the project issued a survey to its 70+ members to assess how far they have progressed along the Ready4H2 Transformation Roadmap , and what the key challenges to them achieving hydrogen-readiness are. The results are currently being analysed and will be shared in a workshop for Members in October.
The meeting strengthened the strategic direction of the Ready4H2 project and the cohesion of its members, who all share the same objectives to promote the role of DSOs in facilitating hydrogen delivery where it is needed. This was confirmed by the Steering Committee Chair, Thomas Muller, GRDF, who said: “The meeting in Paris was in my opinion very fruitful and confirmed the alignment of the steering committee members on the essential objectives and actions of the Project. Concrete results are coming which will help position DSOs in the hydrogen deployment dynamics” .
