On 16 June, the Ready4H2 Steering Committee held a meeting with the leaders of its 7 partner associations – the European Research Institute for Gas and Energy Innovation (ERIG), EUROGAS, Gas Distributors for Sustainability (GD4S), GEODE (The voice of local energy distributors across Europe), GERG, Hydrogen Europe and MARCOGAZ.
The Ready4H2 project was founded to assist coordinate information and increase collaboration between gas distribution operators across Europe, and the network with its partner associations is at the core of this. With this in mind, the discussion was held as a “stocktake” of project progress, the relevance of project activities in the current shifting regulatory environment for gas distribution system operators (in light of the 2024 Hydrogen and Decarbonised Gas Market Package Regulation and Directive), and confirmation of the role of the project within its partner network.
The discussion was very positive – Ready4H2 is seen by its partners as an essential initiative, coordinating its activities across Europe, producing important research results, and conducting targeted advocacy that promotes the gas distribution community in Europe.
