On October 14th, Ready4H2 held its 4th workshop to review and analyse the results of the Ready4H2 DSO Transformation Roadmap Survey (link here), issued to its 70+ members. These results are of paramount importance as they allow members to see their progress along the Roadmap and highlight the key areas where more support is needed.
Although the industry, public and policy makers increasingly recognise the importance of green gases, the unique ability of local distribution networks to connect production and consumption is understated. The Ready4H2 Transformation Roadmap outlines 9 dimensions that DSOs need to address to become hydrogen-ready. These include market development, transforming the grid and systems and delivering at scale.
The survey revealed that most DSOs are progressing well at similar rates, although there are some differences due to regional differences. Further analysis is now being conducted to refine the survey results and add insights from the Ready4H2 workshop series (link here). The final report will be issued in 1Q25.
